Size: Medium (5-10cm)
Turn any bottle of hand soap into a foaming dispenser - with a printed pump head that mixes soap, water and air into foam at the nozzle.
Foam Head is a drop-in replacement pump head for a standard liquid soap pump. The outlet points straight down, like a classic foaming dispenser, and inside it two fine mesh stages sit in a straight foaming core so the soap/air mix is pushed through them before the bend to the nozzle. Print it, swap it onto your existing pump stem, fill the bottle with diluted soap, and you have a foaming soap dispenser.

The shape
A smooth, rounded press cap with a wide pressing surface, fine flutes around the neck, a chamfered rim, and a short downward-facing spout. The proportions are made to look at home next to a kitchen or bathroom sink. Overall size is 53.4 x 24 x 30.8 mm.
Design features
- Straight foaming core with two mesh stages, then a bend to the nozzle
- Outlet pointing 90 degrees straight down
- Socket for the pump stem on the underside, 8.0 mm bore, 10 mm deep
- Skirt around the stem that sits clear of the pump collar
- Two files: a fine-mesh version for resin (0.30 mm mesh) and a coarser-mesh version for FDM (0.50 mm mesh)
Colors
Shown in white and in sage green. It is a single-piece print, so use whatever resin or filament color you like.
How to install
Step-by-step instructions with pictures are in the Build instructions tab.
Print setup
Printer: resin (SLA) or FDM. Use the 0.30 mm mesh file for resin and the 0.50 mm mesh file for FDM. Supports are expected under the spout and the elbow. Clear any uncured resin or loose strings from the mesh stages before use.
Pump stems vary between brands, so check the stem diameter and the stroke of your own pump before printing.

CC-Attribution - NoncommercialYou only replace the pump head. The collar stays screwed on the bottle and the stem stays in place.
1. Remove the original pump head only. Hold the bottle and pull the head straight up off the stem. If it is stuck, twist it slightly while pulling. Leave the collar screwed on the bottle. The bare stem stays exposed.

2. Fit the printed head onto the stem. Push it straight down until the stem is fully seated in the socket. The socket is 8.0 mm, so measure your stem first and scale the file if your pump stem is different.

3. Fill the bottle with diluted soap. Mix liquid hand soap with water, about 1 part soap to 3-4 parts water, then fill the bottle.

4. Leave about 5 mm of clearance. Keep at least about 5 mm between the underside of the printed skirt and the collar when the head is at rest, so the head can travel the full press stroke without touching.
