1Introduction and Acceptance of Terms
Welcome to MakerTouch.com ("MakerTouch", "the Platform", "we", "us", or "our"). MakerTouch is an online platform that allows users to upload, share, discover, and download 3D printable model files for use with 3D printers. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Platform, including all features, content, tools, and services offered through makertouch.com.
By accessing or using MakerTouch in any way — including browsing, registering an account, uploading content, or downloading files — you agree to be legally bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must immediately stop using the Platform.
These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and the owner of MakerTouch, an individual currently operating as a private entity, based in Israel. The Platform's servers are located in the United States and operated through GoDaddy services.
2Eligibility and Age Requirements
You must be at least thirteen (13) years of age to register an account or use any features of MakerTouch. By creating an account, you represent and warrant that you are 13 years of age or older. If we discover that a user is under 13, we reserve the right to immediately terminate the account and delete all associated content without notice.
If you are between the ages of 13 and 18, you represent that you have obtained the consent of a parent or legal guardian to use the Platform and agree to these Terms.
MakerTouch does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, please contact us immediately at legal@makertouch.com.
3User Accounts
3.1 Account Registration
To access certain features of MakerTouch, you must create an account. You may register using a valid email address and password, or by authenticating through Google or Facebook ("Social Login"). You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to keep your account information up to date.
3.2 Username Policy
Your chosen username becomes permanently associated with your account. Upon account deletion — whether by you or by MakerTouch — your username is retained in our system permanently to prevent its re-registration by another user.
3.3 Account Suspension and Termination
MakerTouch reserves the absolute right, at its sole discretion, to suspend, restrict, or permanently terminate any user account at any time, for any reason, with or without prior notice. Upon termination, all content uploaded by the user will be permanently and irreversibly deleted from the Platform.
3.4 Account Restoration
At MakerTouch's sole discretion, a terminated account may be restored. However, any content that was deleted at the time of termination cannot be recovered. Restored accounts will be empty of all previously uploaded content.
3.5 Inactive Accounts
MakerTouch does not currently delete accounts based on inactivity. This policy may change in the future.
4User Content and Intellectual Property
4.1 Ownership Declaration and Legal Responsibility
You retain full ownership of any 3D model files and associated content ("Models") that you upload to MakerTouch. By uploading a Model — and by checking the mandatory confirmation checkbox presented at the time of upload — you make the following legally binding declaration:
"I confirm that I am the original creator of this file, or that I hold all necessary rights, licenses, and permissions to upload, publish, and share it on MakerTouch.com. I understand that uploading content I do not own or have no rights to constitutes copyright infringement and may result in immediate account termination, permanent content removal, and legal liability under applicable law."
This declaration is made under your sole legal responsibility. By completing the upload, you explicitly accept full legal liability for any copyright infringement, intellectual property violation, or misrepresentation of ownership. MakerTouch bears no liability whatsoever for content uploaded in violation of third-party rights, and any legal claims arising from such content shall be directed solely at the uploader.
MakerTouch reserves the right to remove any content and terminate any account where there is reasonable belief that this ownership declaration has been made falsely or in bad faith.
4.2 License Granted to MakerTouch
By uploading a Model, you grant MakerTouch a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual license to use, display, reproduce, and distribute your Model for the purposes of operating and promoting the Platform. This includes featuring your Model on the website, social media, and marketing materials. MakerTouch will not sub-license your content to third parties without separate written agreement.
4.3 Required Licensing for Uploads
Every Model uploaded to MakerTouch must have a clearly designated license assigned by the uploader. Uploading without selecting a license is not permitted.
4.4 Remixes and Derivative Works
Users may create and upload remixed or derivative versions of Models only when the original Model's assigned license explicitly permits such use. Any remix must clearly indicate the original source and credit the original creator.
4.5 AI-Generated Models
Models created with the assistance of artificial intelligence tools are permitted on MakerTouch, provided that the uploaded Model has been physically printed and verified to be functional and printable.
4.6 Use of Downloaded Models
Models available for download are intended for personal use only, unless the assigned license explicitly permits commercial use.
5Prohibited Content and Conduct
5.1 Prohibited Model Content
The following types of Models are strictly prohibited and will be removed immediately:
- Firearms, guns, weapons, or any parts that can be used to assemble a functional weapon
- Sexual content, nudity, pornographic or explicit material
- Models depicting or facilitating violence, self-harm, or harm to others
- Models infringing on third-party intellectual property, including copyrighted characters, trademarked logos, or patented designs (e.g. Disney, Marvel, Nintendo)
- Models designed to facilitate illegal activity
- Any content that violates applicable local, national, or international law
5.2 Prohibited User Conduct
- Harassing, threatening, abusing, or intimidating other users
- Impersonating another person or entity
- Spamming, flooding, or disrupting the Platform or other users
- Attempting to gain unauthorized access to accounts or Platform systems
- Using automated tools or bots without prior written consent
- Posting false, misleading, or fraudulent information
6Content Moderation and Enforcement
6.1 Moderation Process
MakerTouch reserves the right to review, moderate, approve, reject, or remove any content at any time, for any reason, with or without notice. At MakerTouch's discretion, uploaded Models may be held in a pending approval queue before becoming publicly visible.
6.2 Enforcement Ladder
- First Offense: Written warning
- Second Offense: Second written warning
- Third Offense: Temporary suspension
- Fourth Offense or Severe Violation: Permanent termination and deletion of all content
6.3 Appeals
Users who believe their account was suspended or terminated in error may submit an appeal to support@makertouch.com. All enforcement decisions are final at MakerTouch's discretion.
7Model Classification and Rating System
MakerTouch operates a community-driven classification system. When uploading a Model, the uploader selects an initial category: Tools, Improvement, Art, or Invention, and assigns an initial vote weighting.
Registered users may cast one vote per Model and may change their vote at any time. The final classification badge is determined by the aggregate community vote. MakerTouch does not guarantee any specific classification result and reserves the right to override or remove any classification at its sole discretion.
The Maker Level system is based on downloads, ratings, and community engagement. Currently, Maker Levels do not confer special privileges. MakerTouch reserves the right to introduce level-based benefits in the future.
8Social Features
8.1 Following System
Registered users may follow other users to access a personalized feed of their uploaded content. A user's list of followers and the accounts they follow is publicly visible to all registered users of the Platform.
8.2 Comments
Registered users may post comments on Models. Comments are public and visible to all users. You are solely responsible for any comments you post. MakerTouch reserves the right to remove any comment at any time without prior notice. Comments must not contain prohibited content as defined in Section 5, including harassment, hate speech, spam, or infringing material.
8.3 Likes
Registered users may like Models. Likes are public and contribute to a Model's rating and the uploader's Maker Level. MakerTouch reserves the right to adjust or reset like counts in cases of manipulation or abuse.
8.4 Private Messaging
MakerTouch provides private direct messaging between registered users. All messages are stored on MakerTouch's servers. MakerTouch reserves the right to access and review private chat messages where legally permitted, for purposes of safety and enforcement. By using chat, you consent to this storage and potential review.
8.5 Blocking
Registered users may block other users. Blocked users cannot view the blocking user's profile, Models, or send them messages.
9Copyright Infringement and DMCA Policy
MakerTouch complies with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). A full and separate DMCA Takedown Policy is available on the Platform. To report copyright infringement, contact:
Users who repeatedly upload infringing content will have their accounts permanently terminated.
10Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, MakerTouch expressly disclaims all warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
No liability for printed models: MakerTouch shall not be liable for any injury, damage, loss, or harm of any kind arising from the downloading, printing, assembly, use, or misuse of any Model. Users download and print Models entirely at their own risk.
No liability for third-party misuse: If any third party uses a downloaded Model in a manner that causes harm, MakerTouch bears no liability for such use.
No liability for data loss: MakerTouch is not liable for any loss of data, including uploaded Models or account information, resulting from technical failures, server errors, or cyberattacks.
In no event shall MakerTouch be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of the Platform.
11Platform Changes, Suspension, and Shutdown
MakerTouch reserves the right to modify, suspend, or permanently discontinue the Platform or any feature thereof at any time without prior notice. In the event of a permanent Platform shutdown, uploaded content may be irretrievably lost. MakerTouch makes no guarantee of data preservation or content migration in the event of shutdown.
12Transfer of Ownership
In the event that MakerTouch is sold, transferred, or merged with another entity, all user accounts, uploaded content, and data stored on the Platform may be transferred to the acquiring entity as part of the transaction. Continued use of the Platform following such a transfer constitutes your acceptance of the new owner's terms and policies.
13Advertising
MakerTouch is a free platform supported by advertising. The Platform currently uses Google AdSense to display advertisements, and may in the future partner with additional advertising networks or sponsors. MakerTouch does not sell user personal data to advertisers. For more information, please refer to our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.
14Privacy
Your privacy is important to us. MakerTouch's collection, use, and protection of your personal data is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using MakerTouch, you acknowledge that you have read and understood our Privacy Policy.
15Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless MakerTouch, its owner, affiliates, agents, and licensors from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or relating to: (i) your use of the Platform; (ii) your violation of these Terms; (iii) your uploaded content; (iv) your violation of any third party's rights; or (v) any harm caused by objects printed from Models you uploaded.
16Dispute Resolution and Governing Law
16.1 Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Israel. United States federal law — including the DMCA and COPPA — may also apply to certain aspects of the Platform's operation due to server location in the United States.
16.2 Jurisdiction
Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Israel.
16.3 Class Action Waiver
16.4 Limitation Period
Any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms must be brought within one (1) year of the date the claim arose.
17General Provisions
Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, and DMCA Takedown Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and MakerTouch.
Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
Waiver: MakerTouch's failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.
Language: These Terms are written in English. In the event of any conflict between an English version and a translated version, the English version shall prevail.

19Creative Commons Licenses
MakerTouch supports a range of Creative Commons (CC) licenses that uploaders may assign to their Models at the time of upload. The available license types are presented in the upload interface. MakerTouch does not enumerate or explain individual license types within these Terms — it is the uploader's sole responsibility to understand, select, and apply the appropriate license.
By selecting a license and uploading a Model, the uploader represents and warrants that they hold all rights necessary to grant that license to third parties. MakerTouch bears no responsibility for incorrect or unauthorized license assignments.
Users who create remixes or derivative works must fully comply with the terms of the original Model's assigned license, including any attribution, share-alike, or non-commercial restrictions. Failure to comply constitutes a violation of these Terms and may result in content removal and account enforcement.
20Removal Based on Reasonable Suspicion
MakerTouch reserves the right to remove, disable, or restrict access to any content where there is reasonable suspicion of a copyright violation, intellectual property infringement, or any other violation of these Terms — even prior to a final determination or formal complaint. MakerTouch is not required to await the conclusion of any investigation or legal proceeding before taking such action.
Content removed under this provision may be subject to reinstatement following review, at MakerTouch's sole discretion. Removal under reasonable suspicion does not constitute a finding of infringement or wrongdoing by the uploader.
21Featured Content
MakerTouch may highlight, feature, or promote certain Models on the Platform's homepage, category pages, or other prominent areas for display and discovery purposes. Such featuring is editorial and promotional in nature only.
MakerTouch reserves the right to feature or un-feature any content at any time, without notice and without obligation to the uploader.
22Use of Content for Marketing
By uploading a Model to MakerTouch, you grant MakerTouch the right to use images, thumbnails, previews, and files associated with your Model for the purpose of promoting and marketing the Platform. This may include use on the MakerTouch website, social media channels, newsletters, advertisements, and other promotional materials.
This license is non-exclusive, royalty-free, and worldwide. MakerTouch will not sell your content to third parties or use it in a manner unrelated to Platform promotion. Where reasonably practicable, MakerTouch will credit the original uploader when featuring their content in promotional materials, but is not obligated to do so.
23CDN and Content Distribution
MakerTouch uses third-party content delivery networks (CDNs) to distribute and serve Platform content, including uploaded Model files, images, and other assets. While CDNs are used to improve performance and availability, MakerTouch does not guarantee uninterrupted access, delivery speed, or the continued availability of any specific content through CDN infrastructure.
MakerTouch is not liable for any delays, failures, or errors in content delivery that arise from CDN performance or outages. Users acknowledge that content availability may be subject to third-party CDN terms and technical limitations.
24Automatic File Processing
MakerTouch may automatically process uploaded files for display and usability purposes. This may include, but is not limited to, rendering STL or other 3D file formats into preview images, generating interactive 3D viewer displays, creating thumbnails, and optimizing files for web delivery.
By uploading a file to MakerTouch, you grant MakerTouch the right to perform such automated processing. MakerTouch does not alter the original uploaded file and makes no guarantee as to the accuracy or fidelity of automatically generated previews or renders. Automated processing does not constitute review, inspection, or endorsement of the uploaded content.
25Tips and External Payment Links
MakerTouch may allow uploaders to include an external link to a third-party tipping or donation service (such as PayPal) on their Maker Page or Model pages. This feature is provided as a convenience for users who wish to support creators voluntarily.
Uploaders are solely responsible for ensuring their use of external payment links complies with the terms of the relevant third-party payment service and all applicable laws, including tax regulations in their jurisdiction. MakerTouch reserves the right to remove any external payment link that violates these Terms or applicable law.
