Welcome to The Crystal Mines, an original PlayGrid-compatible board game where every expedition is different. Venture deep into an ancient crystal cave filled with valuable ores, unstable tunnels, hidden dangers, and one enormous Crystal Heart at its center. Your goal is simple: gather as many valuable crystals as you can and escape before the mine becomes too dangerous.

Unlike traditional board games, The Crystal Mines features a changing battlefield. Players physically mine crystal deposits, remove ore from the board, and replace them with empty tiles, permanently changing the map as the game progresses. Every crystal collected makes the cave feel a little more depleted—and every decision becomes more important.

Scattered throughout the mine are colorful crystal veins, rocky obstacles, mine carts, wooden bridges, ladders, water crossings, and explosive TNT. These environmental features create countless strategic choices as you explore the cave. Do you take the shortest path? Risk using explosives? Race another player to a valuable crystal deposit? Or head back to safety before disaster strikes?

At the center of the cave lies the massive Crystal Heart. While it contains incredible value, disturbing the heart may trigger catastrophic consequences. Stay too long underground, and you may lose everything you've collected. Every turn becomes a balance between greed and survival.

To keep the game fresh, every match uses a procedurally generated map, meaning no two games are ever exactly alike. Different crystal locations, obstacles, pathways, and hazards create a new puzzle every time you play.
